So you want to know what we look like and a little bit about us?! Well here we are...
Phillipa - Lead Vocals
The singer, acoustic guitarist, brains, beauty, general dogsbody and chief nagger of Backflash. Nearly six foot tall and a gob like a fog horn on a frieght train, Phillipa is quite some frontman. Hailing originally from Kent, Phillipa grew up in a musical family. She has a degree in commercial music from Bath Spa University and at only 24 and 3/4 has a huge amount of professional experience. Can often be spotted on various stages/tiny corners around the country prancing about, belting Tina Turner at the top of her lungs in front of a crowd. It's her job you know.
Rob - Keyboards/rhythm guitar/backing vocals
The musical director and REAL brains behind the operation, Rob is the glue that holds Backflash together. 'Loctite' Maxwell we call him. Another music graduate from Bath (do you think we met there?) Rob has been playing since he were a nipper down in Devon and plays whatever style you can think of. No Honestly, he can. Jazz, blues, rock, pop, country, latin, folk, metal, punk, tibetan...
Ollie - Lead Guitar/backing vocals
A more recent addition to Backflash line-up, Ollie has brought with him genuine skill. His forte being 'funking out in every way', screaming guitar solos and drinking beer. Oh yes, the boy's got talent. The God's of Rock/Funk shone down on Backflash the day Ollie joined and blessed them (and the audiences) with amazing riffery and true face-melting solos. We salute you.
Dan - Bass/backing vocals
Watch out ladies... If making love to beautiful woman was the equivilant to playing the bass, Dan would be Cassanova. He's got the moves, the grooves and a HUGE bass. A graduate of Leeds College of Music, he is a phenomenal musician and can be seen playing with loads of cool people all over the UK. Like Backflash. He was also blessed with the guns of Arnie circa 1986.
Chris - Drums/backing vocals/general time keeping
Small head, big sound, that's what they say about Chris. A great drummer, general kit mover and tea maker, Chris is the backbone of Backflash. An Essex boy (although he'll try and tell you he's from Cambridge) Chris started out as a guitarist but soon changed alegance to the dark side. He's actually quite intelligent for a drummer and guess what - he's ALSO a Bath music graduate and is available for freelance session work and dog walking.
